A Depressing Rhyme.

Audrey Hepburn in pencil
~

This loneliness I feel
That somehow seems to steal
The beauty of the night
And all the stars of night,
Can’t put this sadness right
For Athena is dead
And she lies in her bed
For soon I will follow
For life seems so hollow
For there is nothing less
Than a poets death.

  2. You captured her soulfulness. Always she seemed alone and vulnerable; your poem also captures that feeling well!

  4. thank you for your comments... it's actually another of those mangrove species that can tolerate high salt concentration. i am not sure what particular species, since i was not able to stop and see it closely. maybe next time....

another thing..."Why should I cry for you is a song by STING, which I happen to like...so all credits should go to the composers and the singers...

    nice art pieces...

  7. Melancholy stands out equally well in both words and drawings. I really like that first drawing - she had such an expressive face.
    Beautifully captured Nick.

  8. Oh. AP, the first drawing of Audrey
    is heartbreaking, arresting you've
captured her soul. I read she
    experienced a hard childhood.
    The poem a perfect companion.
